Update

Okay, so I'm out here in grand P-burg. I'm getting buff and tan. Working and making money. Times are good. The lighting department is in an awesome place, we're ahead of the game, and it's very nice.

Last night was a much needed 'decompress' night for me. One of the actresses had a bad day, and she needed some company in her libation indulgence. To help cheer her up a bit, I took her out to Reno's to the bar. It was nice, we had some good conversation, I had a beer, and we came back... apparently a lot of people needed to decompress. It was the first "stay up late and drink" night we've had... and probably the last until The Music Man opens on June 7th. We ended up playing three-man (if you don't know, I'll tell you later) into some wee hours.

I'm having some of those mixed feelings about the summer.
1) I'm looking forward to getting back to Richmond at the end of my contract to spend time with my friends (especially Stephanie).

2) I'm going to miss out on the fun part of the summer when all the shows are built and we're just running them at night, and hanging out during the day.

Yeah, I know... cry me a river.

That's all for now... somebody call me, I miss you guys!

Breathing Room?

I finally have a chance to post for real. Hooray for a day off!

The Promo Tour is over, and I have mixed feelings. One one side, I'm glad that I can focus on just the lighting job; on the other side, I really enjoyed the company of the people I worked with on the tour and performing is always a good time for me.

Our Company Picnic is tonight @ 6:00. It's basically for all the board members to meet all the cast and crew for the season... and kind of builds a little bit of community for the theatre.

Played Frisbee Golf with a couple folks last night, it was their first time, but they both did really well. It was a blast. Then went out to the Holiday Inn for Karaoke with Elizabeth, Wade, and SFB. SFB sang "Wanted, Dead or Alive", Wade sang... well, the song title has slipped my mind for the moment. And I sang, "Soul Man".

In other news - I went with a few guys to see the DaVinci Code on Friday night. It was really good. I had a few issues with the movie... but I was pleased. Definitely read the book when you get the chance.

Work is going really well, my crew is awesome. We're quite a bit ahead right now... and hoping to stay that way.

Aside from work, sleep, and eat... ... well there is no aside from that other than what I've already mentioned. Pretty much a "same old, same old" kind of situation here.

Later taters.

Past Due

Reporting to you live in Somerset, KY

Sorry it's been so long since my last post. I have very limited access to the internet the majority of the time in Prestonsburg. And when I have the free time to be on the internet... I'd rather sleep or enjoy my time in the outdoors.

What's been going on lately? Well, I'm glad you asked. The Promo Tour is going well... we're playing mostly to senior centers who really enjoy the show, but just aren't engaging audiences for a performer.

Tonight while in Somerset, I saw a few people from my past, and it was really good to catch up with them again. One was the music minister and choir director for the church where I grew up... in fact, she was actually the contact at our first Somerset show. Later while at the local "mall" to see a movie, I ran into an old theatre buddy of mine.

In other news, I got a call from my good friend Ben Stewart who just recently got engaged... it was a really good call. He asked me to be one of his groomsmen.. of course I said yes (well, after giving him a bit of a hard time). Again, CONGRATULATIONS BEN and REBEKAH!!!

Most of the JWT Crew has arrived, and the work is underway. They're all pretty cool, and seem to be really hard workers... it's going to be an awesome season. Our work schedule is going to be pretty much 8:00am to 7:00pm - Monday thru Saturday. A lot of work that will really pay off and totally be worth it.

Lets see ... more ramblings...

In order to help speed up some "beef up" process, i've seriously upped my protien intake. I actually bought a jug of soy protien powder to make shakes with. With currently very little physical activity happening I still see some progress.

Last Sunday I made another trip to Lexington, I wasn't on my own accord this time, though, so don't bombard me with "I can't believe you were in town and didn't call me"... this means you, Patch. Went to the mall and hamburg, bought a couple of shirts, a new frisbee disc (for one that I lost on a crappy round of disc golf) and some Godiva chocolate truffles.

Started reading "The DaVinci Code"... I'm hooked... I really am enjoying it. Much like many books, I find myself unwilling to put it down.

Well, I've yammered on WAY to long tonight. I hope all my "peeps" are "keeping it real"... or whatever vernacular kids these days use... take care, and uhm... give me a call sometime.

Seacrest out.

weekend

Well, most of the weekend was the usual sleep, work, and play kind of deal for the tour. The only interesting part was Sunday when I drove to Lexington (see previous post).

Elizabeth, Wade and I all needed some breathing room from JWT for a day, so we all came to Lexington. I went to church in the morning, hung out with Steph for most of the afternoon after church, and in the evening we met up with Wade, Elizabeth and Wes at the Macaroni Grill for some good food and about three and a half hours of sitting around talking and laughing.

Good times.
