Okay. Here's a brighter more "scott-like" theme. It's only updated on the blog potion so far... it's easy to update all the other parts of the site, I just don't feel like it right now. It has the same basic idea behind it... just "peppier".

The black made it look a little too scaled down. I'm all about minimal design and negative space, but the black just kind of looked like one of those ready-made blogger templates. This, however, looks like something you've created and personalized.
I'm starting to figure out that I have a little OCD in me. So I like that your sidebar is tight and organized. I hate cluttered looking sites.
The only thing that jars me a little is the flickr badge - and that's not your fault. I've just decided in the last few months that I hate the way those things look. That's why I monkeyed with the code a little bit and made my own little sidebar thing (they offer sidebars, but they wouldn't align with my page for some reason).
Yeah, I know I'm no professional in the web industry or anything... but I feel that clutter on a website makes it look and feel very amateur-ish.
On a side note... that's exactly what the black was... I built off of the Minima Black template. I still used that as a starting point, but played with it a little more.
As for the flickr thing. I would normally do the kind you have on yours, but I like the fact that the photos on the badge randomize through the whole collection.
Yeah, I kind of like that about the badge too, but I just wish it wasn't so damn ugly.
