Contrary to popular belief.
- I don't like being without a job.
- I don't like being a burden.
- I AM searching for a job.
Unless I ask for your help or opinion, the following are the only acceptable things to say to me in refernce to jobs.
- Have you found anything?
- I'll keep an ear/eye out for you.
- I know someone/someplace that's hiring.
- Keep looking, you'll find something.
All remarks that could/would potentially make me feel 1" tall are unwelcome. I have a pretty thin skin on this one... don't joke about it. If your comment isn't meant to help me, I don't want to hear it. I don't need anyone tearing me down when I feel bad enough as it is.
