Full Weekend

I had a blast this weekend. It started Friday when my friend Ben called to remind me that he and the gang from IM were going to be in Williamsburg this weekend for an event. I jumped in the car and drove down to spend a few hours with the guys while they setup their gear and then during and a bit after the event. At one point in the night, Jeff was bothered a bit by something, and he and I went straight to the bible looking for answers. It was a pretty cool moment, I must say. It was awesome to see these guys again. They some of the most sincere, fun, real, and Godly people you might ever meet.

Saturday came way too early, since I got home REALLY late that morning... I got up had some breakfast and lunch and then headed to church. This weekend I was on the "roving stage cam"... and we've figured out better ways to do a few things since we first started using cameras for our services. I was all over the place, getting great shots. Some really cool artsy ones, too. One particular moment was at the end of the feature song, I was behind the vocal team with the camera on the floor. The lights were creating those "flare" effects on the lens and I pushed slowly into the back of the vocal team, slowly tilting the camera up, as I neared the end of my "push", the camera was pointing right in the lights, and I racked the camera out of focus just as the video director fades to black! It was incredible! That night I went to a friend's house for a "game night". It was a blast we played Taboo, Scene It!, and Mafia.

Again, Sunday Morning came too soon for me, and I headed for church. After church Dustin, Katie and I went to hang out with Stephanie for a while (she's such the invalid). We watched a couple movies and then after Dustin & Katie left, Steph and I watched disc 5 of 24: season 3. I came home earlier than I normally do... and crashed early (and hard).

This was an awesome weekend. I wasn't expecting such a full weekend as it was approaching, and now that it's Monday... it feels like it flew by way too fast.

The stage camera stuff looked really good, I thought. Nice job Scott.

Thanks Patch! It really was such a blast this weekend. I think we're finally starting to not be afraid of some of the new gear. Plus, there were plenty of hiding places for me this weekend.
