Quick Vent

Something that always has bothered me is ignorance. Not just ignorance, but a seeming desire to remain ignorant. I learned about a particular piece of ignorance yesterday, and while it doesn't really "bother" me, it has been on my mind a lot since I learned of it. So, I'm engaging in a quick therapy session ala venting on my blog.

The particular bit and kind of ignorance I'm thinking of is EASILY remedied. "How?" you may ask... well, let me tell you. Ask questions. This method will accomplish finding the truth out about a topic, hands-down... especially if it envolves a person.

The kind of ignorance that I talk about is the kind that spreads rumors and gossip. "But, Scott... why do people want to do this?" Well, some people like to be the person that "knows everything"... some may call them a "know-it-all"... most of the time, in fact, they know very little. Often, if they disagree with something, instead of presenting information to a second party to show them how they came up with their opinion or their conclusion, they simply will degrade the other person or their statement with unintelligent remarks (for example: "that's just dumb", or "you're an idiot").

Ahh... thanks for listening.

Who's spreading rumors about you, Scotty? Give me a name and I'll make it all go away.

No one's spreading rumors. Or at least I don't believe they are. They just don't know any better...

... oh, but I think that BP is out to get me.

I'll kick his ass twice then, because I was gonna do it once just for fun.

Ignorance....Thanks for that opinion, Scott. I think people don't realize how big a problem ignorance is. Its EVERYWHERE. And it drives me crazy when people settle for being ignorant instead of educated on whatever the issue. Life could be sooo much better for sooo many people if they would look beyond themselves.
Oh, this isn't my blog. I'll shut up now.

Geron and I love ya, Man!

People are silly! Some people like to feel big. They think by being the "know it all", people will think they are on the inside. But the truth is, they make themselves look kind of dumb. Pity on their poor souls.
