Moment to relax

okay, time's up!

Well, I'm back from my gig in Prestonsburg, KY. Today I'm home... tomorrow, I'm gone again. Sometimes it's nice to be busy, unless it keeps you from spending time with the people you care about and who care about you. (Fortunately for me, there's no such people. - KIDDING)

A Christmas Story had a packed house for the three matinees and both evening performances were sold out. It was very well recieved and the audiences seemed to really enjoy the show. It's a very easy show for people in my generation and older to relate to... younger generations can enjoy it... but I don't think they can really appreciate it or connect with it. Kids these days have too many things to hinder their imaginations. I remember playing Atari and Sega and Nintendo and watching TV... but none of these things could capture or stimulate my mind as much as my own adventures in my imagination. Young 'ens today are almost spoon fed everything by TV and Movies and the types of toys that are out. And it makes me sad.

I am vowing here and now that when (or at the moment if) I beome a father - that I will encourage the imagination of my child... and not let her/him be desensitized early on by too much TV or too many movies. I will encourage READING and hope that they take on their own adventures in their minds much like I did when I was a kid.

Now that my tangent is over... let me set this image upon your mind:

Circus midgets dancing the tango.
