Telemarketers Start Transmitting Caller ID Information
Starting today, if you have Caller ID, you'll know when a telemarketer calls you. Telemarketers must transmit Caller ID information in order to comply with the Federal Trade Commission's Telemarketing Sales Rule (TSR). Prior to the new requirements, most calls showed up on your Caller ID as "out of area." Now the name of the company or firm calling must be displayed along with their phone number.
